About

Play / Create is built on a simple observation about the age we are entering.

As AI and automation take over more and more of what used to fill our days, two deeply human things are left for us to do — and they turn out to be the ones that matter most.

The first is to play: to pick up an instrument or a controller, to wander through an idea in art or philosophy, to explore for no reason other than curiosity. The second is to create: to make art, build new things, and invent — right down to the tools that push automation further still.

This site is about everything that bridges where we are now to that future. We write about the role of play in how people grow and think, the rise of creative and freelance work, the ideas worth exploring, and the countless small and large ways people are choosing to make rather than only consume.

If that is a future you are curious about, you are in the right place. Play a little, create a lot, and have a look around.
